Townhall Meeting on Land Assembly – TOMORROW

Join us for a Townhall Meeting organized by the Fight for Farmland Group at the New Hamburg Community Centre (251 Jacob Street in New Hamburg) on Monday, June 24 at 7:00 PM. Doors open at 6:30 PM, and ticket holders are guaranteed entry until 6:50 PM. Even if you don’t have a ticket, please come—we should have ample space. The event will include a presentation followed by a Q&A session. The presentation is available on our website at fightforfarmland.com

We had an excellent turnout this past Thursday with great questions and discussion. Monday’s presentation will be identical, with future updates as more information becomes available. Our goal is to inform and educate the community about this land development situation and discuss the detrimental impact an industrial mega-site will have on our township and beyond.

Waterloo Region Council Meeting Recap – June 19, 2024

Last week, the Fight For Farmland protest at the Region of Waterloo Council meeting had dozens of people and was the lead item on many newscasts.  Susanna Compton addressed Regional Council with a powerful presentation and strong support from our community, both inside and outside the council chambers. Susanna advocated for innovative solutions for a mega-site that does not involve destroying prime agricultural land.
